History of Sincan Although the exact official history of Sincan is unknown, records show it as Sincan Village in the 17th century. In the early years of the Republic, it was a village with 28 households and a mosque. Following Atatürk's request, immigrants from Romania and Bulgaria were settled in Sincan, increasing its population to 1,258 in 1950. By Atatürk's command, 100 immigrant families from Romania's Köseabdi were settled in Sincan. The immigrants brought tulip bulbs with them, making tulips and tulip gardens the first things that come to mind when Sincan is mentioned. With the settlement of immigrants, Sincan gained the appearance of a typical immigrant village and quickly developed due to its location on the Ankara-Nallıhan-Ayaş state highway. In 1956, it became more central, and a municipality was established in the same year. With a rapidly growing population, Sincan was separated from Yenimahalle district and became a district on November 30, 1983, with the law number 2963. Later, with the Council of Ministers' decision dated March 8, 1988, and numbered 88/12721, it was included within the borders of the Metropolitan Municipality.
Sincan gained importance in ancient times due to its proximity to the Silk Road. There are also some settlements in Asia with the same name. The word Sincan means the land of lively, joyful people.
